Thursday, June 21st is International Yoga day!
The practice of yoga has certainly proven its worth and value over the years. Originating in India over 5,000 years ago, Yoga is a combination of mental, physical, and spiritual exercise.
There are 8 types of yoga, think you know them all?
Bikram - aka hot yoga, detox
Hatha - basic asanas & relaxation
Vinyasa - includes postures as well as breathing techniques
Ashtanga - routine and discipled, a little more physically demanding
Kundalini - inner soul & chakras
Iyengar - slower paced and utilizes props
Yin - mostly floor bases, holding poses for several minutes
Restorative - de-stress & relax, uses props, oils, and blankets

Try eating about 30 minutes before your yoga session & remember to keep it light!
