It’s that time of year again. Where the leaves are falling, the weather is changing and candy corn and pumpkin spice is all around us!
You get to put on this years costume that you’ve worked so hard on (or grabbed a pair of ears at the dollar store last minute) to show off! The little ones get to go door to door, collecting all the candy their hearts could desire. However, later to find out that some of the candy is “bad” and you must take it. Let’s face it, we all do it, we can’t resist the sweet sweet temptation of FREE CANDY! Thank goodness you walked around before hand huh?
But not all candy is created equal. We’ve got the facts PLUS tips and tricks on how to pick your treat and not get tricked!
Rule #3: Never, ever, under any circumstances say "I'll be right back." Because you won't be back.
Don’t be tricked by what you hear. It seems as if every week there is a new diet or “do not eat” that everyone is talking about. Of course, we find ourselves contemplating whether or not we should listen. It may sound like a good idea at the time, you have that party coming up in a week, you’d like to shed ten pounds in three days, or you want to detox your body and start over from a weekend of binge eating.
Well, here is the reality of it. It’s a “quick fix” for a reason. These “fads” will only work for so long before your body revolts or you fall off the diet wagon.
This is not to say that some of these fads won’t work! With proper nutrition and activity, some of these could be beneficial, with modifications.

Calories vs. Macros.
Most people think counting calories is the exact thing as counting their macronutrients. But! It’s actually the opposite way around! If you count your MACROS you are counting your CALORIES (well, you’ll hit your recommended calories).
So what’s the deal? What’s the difference?
A calorie is: an amount of food having an energy-producing value of one large calorie.
A macronutrient is: a type of food (e.g., fat, protein, carbohydrate) required in large amounts in the human diet.
Can you spot the difference?
No? Okay, no problem! Let’s get into it!

So what’s the deal. You’re always blowing hot and cold!
We kid, we kid. But seriously, what’s the deal with hot and cold, particularly when it comes to water. We drink it, bathe in it, swim in it, and sometimes get caught in it. We tend to use it to water our plants, for cooking, to wash our clothes and so much more.
Did you know there are benefits that separate the two temperatures though? Not only when we drink it, but when we bathe in it!

Okay, so you’ve gone off track, SH*T HAPPENS! We are not perfect, as much as we all like to believe. Life happens, family happens, work happens, school happens, etc etc…
Ladies, we’ve all been there, it’s “that time” and you’ve eaten more sweets than there are in Willy Wonka’s factory.
Guys, it’s football season, we get it, wings and beer.
DON’T STRESS! We all fall off track. There is no reason to stay derailed!
One thing we stress here at fitBITE is that YOU are creating a healthier lifestyle, NOT A DIET. By keeping in a diet mind frame, we tend to restrict and deprive ourselves of things we naturally crave sometimes. This can lead to a build up and then POOF, we “blew it”.
How about the good ol’ saying, “I’ll start next week” or “I’ll get back to working out next Monday”. Don’t fall victim to the “I’ll start when…”!
