oh I’m sorry, I thought you said extra fries. does this sound like you when you hear the word exercise? if so, just know you are not alone. finding the motivation to workout can be difficult, especially when you've been at work all day or didn't sleep well the night before. motivation is key when getting in a workout. while some people need is a little boost like a pre-workout shake or energy drink, others, well, sometimes it just takes a little more. sometimes all it takes is a switch in your workout routine. here are some ways to get motivated and avoid the extra fries.
exercise in the morning, before your brain figures out what you’re doing. why? - jumpstart your metabolism - you will have energy for the day - helps to clear your head - gets your day in a MAGICAL mood - more motivated to make healthier food choices throughout the day
did you know... that 90% of people who workout in the morning are more consistent? huh, would you look at that!
my legs are hung over, help me, everything hurts. this is called delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). what it means is your muscles are experiencing tiny tears as they kicked butt during your workout. as they repair, your muscles will become stronger! usually this soreness dissipates within a day or so.
continuing with a light workout will actually ease some of the pain you are feeling. try... - gentle walk - bike ride - swim - stretching/foam rolling - yoga by putting these sore muscles into action you will enhance the blood flow, helping them along the repairing process.

when you just want to do it, but not really. this is where the motivation comes in. you may have talked yourself out of an early morning workout or you are beginning to come up with excuses as to why you can’t. rest assure, YOU CAN! there are 24 hours in a day, even if it’s 15 minutes you can be active! try doing this workout every time you get up to use the bathroom OR every 2 hours or so while at work! burn 100 calories without even trying, kind of... - 40 jumping jacks - 30 crunches - 20 squats = 10 push-ups - 5 burpies doing this 5 times in a day burns 500 calories! tada! don’t you feel accomplished!?
ast but not least, endorphins... the happy fitness drug you can never have too much of! if feeling good isn't motivation enough, we don't know what is! don't get it twisted though, we want you to venture into the other extreme... that moment you realize it’s a rest day and you don’t know what to do with yourself. YOUR BODY NEEDS REST! It is so crucial to your fitness program to REST! even if you are getting cabin fever, take a walk or go site seeing. after all, there was a day created for us to just put our feet up and take the day off.
