Happy New Year! We hope you enjoyed your holiday with friends and family. It’s 2019, are you ready to take on the new year? We all have goals, some smaller or larger than others. Reaching those goals is completely up to you though. We know, there are going to be days where it gets tough, you won’t want to eat that salad or finish your workout. But hey, that’s life! Here at fitBITE are here to help you every step of the way, giving you that little bit of motivation you need to keep going! The biggest complaint we have heard is that it’s difficult to get in a routine with a workout/fitness plan. Having an idea on what you’d like to do in the gym is easy, it’s getting there that seems to be the problem! Also, finding ways to make it simpler to prep for the gym and hacking the items you have at home to get in that workout when you can’t get to the gym! Here are some 2019 “HACKS” to get you ready for a killer workout!
before you go.
Lay your gym clothes out. This is take the “pain” out of having to find something to wear. Put it near your bathroom or even in the kitchen by your coffee maker for your morning cup just as a little motivator. Still having an issue, why not just sleep in them. EAT! Make your pre and/or post workout bite the night before. No excuse for having to hit the “drive through” for your meal. Keep your gym bag in the car. Wether you are at work or always on the go, there will be no excuse that you “forgot your gym clothes”. Oh the smell. Lifting heavy? Find that your supports are getting funky? Freeze your knee sleeve and wrist wraps to remove the smell! Also, try placing dryer sheets in your gym shoes for a fresh, clean smell! Freeze your water. You’ll always have cold water as it begins to melt throughout your workout! Multiple blends. Pre. Intra. Post. There is a powder for everything. Pre-pack your shakers full of your powders.
while you're there.
Put a ring on it. Engaged, married always wearing a ring? Here is a hack that will help you keep your ring without losing it. Get a climbing carabiner and clip your rings to it. Attach it to your key ring and BOOM, your rings are safe! Dance, dance. Tired of checking the clock for time? Make a playlist that lasts the length of your workout! Never worry about going over time again! Do not disturb. We see it all the time, people on their phone in the gym. Be kind, place yours on DND. This will also insure that you get your workout in without an interruption. Have a back up. Time to hack your gym equipment/machines. Sometimes our workout plan doesn’t go accordingly (someone using the squat rack for a curling rack). Know your options, know some equipment hacks. Plan B sometimes comes in handy. Tight on time. No time for both strength training and cardio? Bring a jumprope or work in some HIIT training in between your sets.
